Data We Collect

When you use our service, we may collect the following information:

  • Name and email address you provide when you register or through our contact form
  • Account credentials managed through Supabase Auth (including Apple Sign-In tokens)
  • Inventory, recipe, and business data you enter into the application
  • Voice audio data when using voice counting features (processed in real-time, not stored)
  • Text chat messages sent to our AI assistant
  • Usage data such as pages visited, features used, and interaction patterns
  • Device information including push notification tokens
  • Point-of-sale data imported from connected Square accounts

How We Use Your Data

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve our services
  • Respond to your inquiries and support requests
  • Send service-related communications
  • Analyze usage patterns to improve the user experience

Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored securely using industry-standard encryption and security practices. We use Supabase for data storage, which provides enterprise-grade security including encryption at rest and in transit. We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with our services.

Cookies

We use essential cookies to maintain your session and authentication state. We also use analytics cookies (Vercel Analytics) to understand how our service is used. These cookies do not track you across other websites.

AI-Powered Features

StockCount uses artificial intelligence to power its chat assistant and voice counting features. When you interact with these features:

  • Text chat messages are processed by Anthropic (Claude) to generate responses and execute inventory operations on your behalf.
  • Voice audio is streamed directly to xAI (Grok) for real-time speech recognition and voice interaction. Audio is processed in real-time and is not permanently stored by StockCount.
  • Your inventory data and conversation context may be included in prompts sent to these AI providers to deliver accurate, personalized responses.

Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate StockCount:

  • Supabase — authentication, database, and file storage
  • Anthropic (Claude) — AI text chat processing
  • xAI (Grok) — AI voice interaction processing
  • OpenAI — text embeddings for semantic search
  • Square — point-of-sale integration (only when you connect your Square account)
  • RevenueCat — subscription and in-app purchase management
  • Sentry — error tracking and crash reporting
  • PostHog — product analytics and usage tracking
  • Vercel — website hosting and analytics
  • Fly.io — API server hosting
  • Expo / EAS — mobile app build and update delivery
  • EmailJS — processing contact form submissions

Each of these services has their own privacy policies governing their use of your data. We encourage you to review their policies.

Square Integration

If you choose to connect your Square account, we access your Square catalog and transaction data using OAuth 2.0 authorization. You can disconnect your Square account at any time from the Settings screen, which revokes our access. We store your Square OAuth tokens securely to maintain the connection.

Data Retention & Deletion

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You can request deletion of your account and all associated data from the Data & Privacy section in the app's Settings. Account deletion requests have a 7-day grace period during which you can cancel the request. After that period, your data is permanently deleted. You can also export all your data at any time from the same screen.
